Imagine pipes that feel….Water is ancient. Since Earth’s beginning, it has been the same circling water. A river is part of the hydrosphere. Here, seasonal rainfall and cooling of ecosystems happen. When water goes into a factory, a data center, a corn field or in a greenhouse, it gets out of sight and cannot carry on with its ecological functions. Water pollution and leakages are toxic issues damaging ecosystems and economies. Can talking valves reduce (virtual) water footprints? Imagine pipes that feel thanks to smart sensors.
For this World Water Day, I imagined to bring together researcher from the arts & science in a Knowledge Market. It became The ‘smart’ Water Knowledge Market hinting at the hopes and dangers of smart water technologies.
Join the space for knowledge exchange and sensory experiences and engage with guests, contributors and participants:
Prof. Dr. Andrea Cominola
Dr. Marlene Bart
Heindriken Dahlmann
Su Yu Hsin
Cleo Wächter
Pauline Münch
Tobias Schmid
and of course myself and Dr. Nina Samuel (Knowledge Exchange Office of the Berlin University Alliance) who leads the On Water PARCOURS events series.
