Between Us and Nature – A Reading Club #60
When we were hosting the very first reading session in June 2017, we did not expect that we would make long lasting friendships and co-build a community. Everyone is welcome, no matter if you hear about the Reading Club for the first time or you have wanted to join since ages but could not make it yet.
Nine years of reading and researching together changed the way we work and see the world. In Eva’s artist book Feeding on Light, Sina wrote the text An Encounter with Leaves creating a tangible trace of our collaboration. Lynn Margulis is one of the protagonists of the essay, speaking about her theory of Endosymbiosis and the beginning of photosynthetic organisms as a process of collaboration. It is a new and a bit frightening experience to read together something written by us.
Please join us in this adventure and celebrate with us the sixtieth reading session on Wednesday 16th of September, 2026 at Zabriskie Buchladen für Kultur und Natur.

Between Us and Nature is an ongoing reading club. Attendees read passages together out loud, and share experiences and thoughts about the nature they live in. Looking beyond disciplines, the group creates a space to learn from and with soil, water, bacteria, algae, fungi, and multinaturalist narratives.
Hosts: Eva-Fiore Kovacovsky, artist, and Sina Ribak, writer
In collaboration with Zabriskie Buchladen für Kultur und Natur
